I stumbled into this whilst promoting m’ novel at KAPOW! London comic con.
I contributed to this world record by creating the last frame, and after 11 hours 19 minutes and 38 seconds, two new Guinness World Records had been set: the “Fastest Production of a Comic Book” and the “Most Contributors to a Comic Book”.
With more than 60 contributors, the comic-book will be printed and distributed through Marvel’s Icon imprint, with all royalties being donated to Yorkhill Children’s Foundation. Well done to everyone involved!

Finally, after almost five years my first Graphic novel entitled ‘Cartigan’ with be published by Akileos in June.
Two weeks ago, myself and Writer Dan Willett promoted the novel at KAPOW! London comic con, where the general feedback we received for Cartigan was truly amazing!
As the novel will be published in French first, our main objective was to try and secure a UK/US deal for all English speaking countries. Again, the feedback from many UK and US publishers was fantastic, and will keep you posted on the outcome. Plus Cartigan will be featured in Bizarre magazine in a couple of months!
Big shout outs to The Establishing shot and the very friendly Den of Geek for their lovely Cartigan compliments.

These amazing shades I pinched courtesy of Madina. Check out his other mental styles.

Studio Rarekwai’s Stickerbomb was the first to highlight the stickers of ‘street artists’ collected in one big bumper book.
I was lucky enough to grace the second volume containing fully-peelable stickers. It’s filled with an amazing collection of more than 250 specially-commissioned stickers by artists, illustrators and graffiti writers from around the world, many of whom have not been featured in a publication before. It will appeal to a young market of designers, street artists and illustrators, plus street art fans and anyone who collects stickers.
Stickerbomb 2 can be purchased in all good book stores.

Time has whizzed by without me posting a ruddy thing! So after gathering plenty of new Artwork from various projects, i’ll attempt to show the best bits from 2010 to the beginning of 2011.
DJ Hero 2 was released back in October 2010 with critical acclaim. scoring 9 out of 10 on many online reviews, ‘the best kind of sequel’, etc. I was lucky to have worked on this triple AAA title, creating many characters, costume designs, environments, front end elements and loading screens, many of which will be featured in the concept section and on Freestylegames’s site
I’m weeks away from completing book one of ‘Cartigan’, my first Graphic novel. Book one will be published by the wonderful Akileos publishing in France.
If you can make the KAPOW London comic con on-April 9th to 10th, myself with Partner in grime, Mr.Willett will be there to promote Cartigan. can’t wait!
Until next time-Dx

More on the MHC updates. It’s a tough on as I don’t want to give too much away. As the bubbles and type aren’t in place yet, it shouldn’t give too much away! This double page spread is of Cartigan in the Palace ceremonial quarters. Pip pip!

Here’s my submission for the traveling Moleskin project. I received a lovely little black book from the great Colin Jenkinson this morning. He’s done a superb spread, please check it out on his photostream and it’s filling up with some other amazing artists. A number of these iconic sketch books have been unleashed into the world to return to Leeds by the end of September. The project will culminate in a fabulous arty party and exhibition in October to help raise funds for the Campaign for Real Drawing. A great project, I’ve passed mine on, but sign up and get involved if you want to make your mark in one. It runs until the end of September and is sponsored by Thompson Brand Partners. DJ Hero has been announced! I’ve had the pleasure of being the Senior Concept Artist on this project for over a year. Along with Freestyle Games, I have been extremely busy in bringing this title to life.
When I came on board half way through the project, some of the in game characters where already in place, so I was asked to create concepts for over half of the remaining in-game characters and all the AAA superstar DJ’s. I also created some of the environment concept illustrations for the modeling and animation teams.
For those who’ve been on another planet, or have no interest in Video games: DJ Hero is the up coming title from Publishing giants Activision, who’ve brought you the Guitar Hero video game franchise. In the last five years GH has sold over 25 million games, being hailed as one of the most popular games in gaming history!
DJ Hero is a multi platform family game that does exactly what it says on the tin: Using your Turntable/mixer controller, you play as a DJ creating insane mixes, rocking different venues and clocking up your points.
